New to rolling shutters?
If you are interested in rolling shutters and need a starting point, then you are in the right place. The following information is meant to provide education of how shutters are made as well as their benefits.
How is a shutter made?
Rollac forms their shutters one slat at a time. It all starts in the climate controlled machine room. Raw aluminum coils are hoisted onto the roll-forming machine, where the long sheets of metal are precision formed into a double walled slat. Custom mixed foam is injected into the slat cavity, where it hardens and cures through a heating process. After being cut to finished lengths, the slats are bundled by type and sent to the warehouse for usage and inventory. Each shutter is cut to size and assembled by hand for a precise fit on each building opening.
So many choices!
With such a wide variety of slats to choose from, how do you pick the one that is right for you? We’ve made that question easy to answer by dividing up our different shutter types into recognizable categories.
